Supervising Deputy State Public Defender at the Office of the State Public Defender in San Francisco since 2000.  Member of California Bar since 1985.

Has been representing death row inmates on appeal and in other post-conviction proceedings for more than 18 years, at CAP (1989-1995), in private practice (1995-2000), and at OSPD (2000-present).

Member of the Board of Directors of Death Penalty Focus for almost 10 years. Co-chair of the California Public Defender Association/California Attorneys for Criminal Justice Capital Case Defense Seminar for several years.

Graduated cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1985, and graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Vermont in 1981.
