“Is the California Supreme Court on the verge of striking down the state’s racist death penalty statute?”

We hope you will join us on June 18 at noon Pacific, 3 p.m. Eastern for a DPF webinar on whether the California Supreme Court is indicating it’s ready to find the state’s death penalty unconstitutional because it’s administered in a racially discriminatory manner.

DPF Board President Mike Farrell will join three panelists, including two whose organizations filed a 2024 writ petition in the California Supreme Court challenging California’s death penalty on the basis that the statute is racially discriminatory, and a third death penalty lawyer whose history with the Court goes back decades.

The program will last about one hour and is free of charge.
