Mendeleyev is a baritone singer/songwriter/producer based in Los Angeles, CA. Appearing on Season 17 of NBC’s The Voice on John Legend’s team, his low, booming voice got all four coaches to turn their chairs with his viral rendition of “Girl from the North Country.” He has opened for and collaborated with artists like Ben Harper, Jackson Browne, Madison Cunningham, Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, and Glen Phillips. Mendeleyev also headlined the Fourth of July at the Rose Bowl Stadium, singing for 30,000 people. Trained by Bobby McFerrin in voice improvisation, he is highly influenced by a variety of legends — with a vocal combination of Johnny Cash and Van Morrison, the moving lyrical content of Bob Dylan, and the fingerpicking style of John Mayer — and seeks fresh hybrids of folk/funk and electronic/acoustic. Multi-instrumental, humorous, and full of energy, Mendeleyev is a storyteller never bound by genre, always taking the next step in creative expression.
